Search-form entries such as a name, phone number, or address are sent to the third-party provider that supplies results; Cincinnati Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent to us contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site healthy and to see which pages readers use. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use limited data to operate the service, correct problems, understand aggregate traffic, and improve reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or build individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Visitors may ask about personal data this service retains. Because Cincinnati Residents Directory keeps very little, a request generally concerns a contact message or server-log information. Use the Contact page. Ohio research did not identify a broad statewide consumer-data deletion statute or one central data-broker opt-out portal. Public records held by Ohio, Hamilton County, or Cincinnati offices are outside our control; request correction or redaction from the custodian. Ohio Revised Code 149.45 provides an online-record redaction process for specified personal information.
